Autumn Epic 2007

Entries are open for the Autumn Epic - just click on the green EntryCentral logo in the left margin (as of 20th August, we have only 80 out of 1,000 places left).

NEWS:  Click here for the provisional 2007 route (be patient - it takes a while to load!), and to get an idea of the profile click on the "show elevation" bar at the bottom of the map.

The Autumn Epic is a European-style cyclosportive, starting in Knighton in Welsh Marches, and taking you through the superb scenery of the ancient county of Radnorshire. Featured as one of Cycling Weekly's ten events to do in 2006, the Autumn Epic is the perfect way to round off your season and make great use of that summer fitness! It is probably wise to enter very early as entries filled up months in advance in 2006.

The route in 2007 will be a little longer than in 2005 and 2006, at over 150km, but with a similar amount of total climbing (around 3000m). We have made some small changes to the route for 2007, partly to handle the higher number of riders, but mainly because we think the new bits are great additions to already superb route. Fear not though - we have not changed the character of the event or cut out the highlights of the Elan Valley mountain road, Glascwm and Abbey Cwm Hir climbs. Once again, you will be taken you through some truly outstanding cycling scenery, including hills, lakes, valleys and moorland.

Radnorshire is near perfect cycling territory, with its unspoilt countryside and peaceful roads - you are in for a real treat if you havenít ridden here before.

The route is hilly from the first mile, and takes in hills, lakes, valleys and mountains.

The Autumn Epic is a fully supported European-style cyclosportive:

  • Comprehensively and clearly way-marked route (we will be putting out well in excess of 200 route arrows).

  • Electronic timing chips and route sheet will be sent out in advance - *NEW* transponder/mat based timing will be used in 2007.

  • Two lavishly stocked feeding stations on the route.

  • Broom wagon, mechanical support and 1st aid.

  • Quality photos of all riders available for purchase on the web.

  • Individual times available immediately at the event centre. Full results list with Gold, Silver and Bronze standards published on event website within 24 hours.

  • Event t-shirt available for £5 in advance only.

  • *NEW* Savoury food at the finish for all riders (included in price).
