Devil Ride

Welcome to the Devil Ride, an exciting new cyclosportive from the organisers of the award winning Autumn Epic, taking place on 10th August 2008 from Builth Wells in mid Wales. Please note - as of end March, the Devil Ride is half full.

News: As part of our association with Orbea we will be offering a superb full carbon Orca frameset to one lucky finisher - the winner will be picked out of a hat on the day as the Devil Ride is not a race and so we won't be giving any prizes for performance.

The route of the Devil Ride was developed with local countryside consultant James Blair, and we truly believe it is one of the best in the calendar. And we aren’t the only ones - I don’t think we have ever had so many volunteers eager to take on the test rides!

As well as the Devil's Staircase, the 100 mile route takes in another 10 or more significant climbs, including some that may even be more challenging than the Staircase, to deliver in excess of 10,000ft of climbing.

However, this ride isn’t all about big numbers – it will be a pretty tough event to be sure, but we haven’t gone out of way to make it hard just for the sake of it. As always, number one in our priority list is the enjoyment factor. We love riding in this area, and we want to showcase some of the best scenery on offer, while giving riders a day out to remember.

We are proud of the Autumn Epic’s reputation for organisation, friendliness and clear signage. But we think we can do even better for 2008 – so the Devil Ride will feature some new developments that we will also be introducing into the Epic. There will be more on this as we begin the run in to the event, starting with post-entry communication.
